MEGAH Best Sports Team Award 2017 goes to UKT

Majlis Aspresiasi Gemilang Mahasiswa Unimas or better known for its abbreviation MEGAH is an annual excellence award ceremony organized by the UNIMAS Student Council (MPP) to celebrate the students high achievements in both academic and extra-curricular activities.

On May 13th, 2017, the ceremony was officiated by the university Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Kadim bin Suaidi which was held at DeTAR, UNIMAS. In his welcoming speech, the Vice Chancellor congratulates all the award recipients and encourages students to continue and challenge themselves to reach excellence throughout the years of studies in Unimas. He added that award ceremonies such as MEGAH is a good platform to shape the students into proactive individuals and to motivate students to push themselves to do their best.

UNIMAS Kayak Team (UKT) once again dominate the Best Sports and Recreational club award for the third time in a row since MEGAH 2015.

That same night, one of our athlete has brought home the Laksamana award. The Laksama award is one of the highest achievements for the Individual Sportsmanship category. The recipients for this year's Laksama award is Azra Tilai. Azra had actively participated and won several competitions throughout 2016 in which he was amongst many in UNIMAS chosen for this award.

The amount of commitment and hard work poured out by all the athletes and our coach combined with their deep passion for kayaking has made it possible for the UNIMAS Kayak Team (UKT) to reach the level it has arrived on. Our hope for the near future that UKT will continue to elevate and continue to be the best sports organization in campus.
