50 KM Labuan Round Island Kayak Challenge

The annual Labuan International Sea Challenge was held at Labuan International Sea Sport Complex on April 21st until May 1st , 2017. The main event consists of a Round Island Kayak Challenge, Boat Tug of War, Cross Channel Swimming Challenge, and Island to Island Fishing Tournament, while side events consists of beach football, volleyball, battle of the buskers and more (Labuan Times, 2017).
Taken up by UNIMAS Kayak Team was the Round Island Kayak Challenge that took place on April 29th, requiring kayakers to complete 50 km in less than 8 hours.
At 6 a.m., all kayakers were set to journey into the mercy of the sea. The event was met by many athletes across Malaysia along with some international athletes from Brunei and Indonesia. Among representatives from UNIMAS were Clinton Ngawal Stephen in Men's Single, Bryan Anderson partnered with Max Suil in Men's Double, Patrick Ann Bilong partnered with Liew Wean Kei in Mix Doubles, and also Hendryson Francisco partnered with Kimberley Rinai in Mix Doubles.
By 1.30 p.m. the last of our team had arrived and completed the 50 km race. Our team achieved top 10 places during the race, whereby Clinton came in 7th for Men’s Single, Bryan and Max came in 4th for Men’s Double, and Hendryson and Kimberley came in 7th for Mix Double.
